How to Maintain Rechargeable LED Cabinet Lights?
Share
1. Regularly clean the surface of the cabinet light and the heat dissipation holes to avoid dust accumulation.
After a long time of use, the surface of LED cabinet lights is prone to accumulating dust, grease and even water vapor, especially for lights installed in kitchens, pantries and other environments. These impurities may affect the brightness of the light and reduce the fixture's ability to dissipate heat, thus affecting its lifespan.
- Daily cleaning: Use a clean soft cloth or microfiber cloth to gently wipe the surface of the lights, avoiding the use of excessively rough materials to avoid scratching the lampshade.
- Remove oil stains: If the surface of the cabinet light is stained with oil, you can use a small amount of mild detergent (such as diluted detergent), wipe with a damp cloth, and then dry with a dry cloth. Avoid using cleaning products containing alcohol, ammonia or bleach to avoid damage to the lamp shell.
- Heat sink cleaning: Some LED cabinet lights are designed with heat sinks to improve heat dissipation efficiency. You can use a small soft brush or air blow to clean the heat sink holes to prevent the accumulation of dust affecting the heat dissipation effect.
2. The right way to store: avoid high temperature, humid environment
The electronic components and batteries of LED lights are more sensitive to temperature and humidity, and improper storage may accelerate the aging of the batteries, or even lead to short circuit or damage. Storage environment recommendations:
- Appropriate temperature: Avoid storing LED cabinet lights in high temperature or extremely cold environment. Recommended storage temperature is 0°C - 40°C, high temperature may accelerate battery aging, while low temperature may reduce battery performance.
- Avoid humidity: Prolonged exposure to a humid environment may cause the internal circuitry of the light to become damp, affecting normal operation. It is recommended to store in a dry, ventilated area away from water sources or high humidity areas (e.g. bathrooms, unsealed kitchen areas).
- Avoid exposure to the sun: Direct sunlight may cause the lamp body to overheat, accelerating the deterioration of the plastic or metal materials and affecting the appearance and service life.
💡Tips: When not in use for a long period of time, it is recommended to charge and discharge the battery every 3 months to avoid battery failure due to prolonged non-use. Use a dust bag or box for storage to avoid dust from entering the inside of the light fixture.
3. How to check the battery health of cabinet light and replace the battery in time
Rechargeable LED cabinet lights usually use lithium batteries or nickel-metal hydride batteries, after long-term use, the battery performance may gradually decline, resulting in shorter life, slower charging speed, or even can not be charged. How to determine the health of the battery?
- Abnormal charging speed: If the charging time is obviously longer than before, it may be a sign of battery aging.
- Decreased battery life: If the usage time is significantly shortened after a full charge, it is a sign that the battery capacity is decreasing.
- Flickering or erratic light: If the light flickers or has uneven brightness during use, the battery may not be supplying enough power.
- Swelling or deformation of the battery: If the battery is found to be swollen or deformed, it must be stopped immediately and replaced to avoid a safety hazard.
Battery Maintenance Recommendations:
- Avoid over-discharge: When the light becomes dim, it should be charged in time, don't wait until it is completely dead, otherwise it will accelerate the aging of the battery.
- Use the original charger: Avoid using unofficial or poor-quality chargers to avoid unstable voltage or current affecting the battery life.
- Regular charging and discharging: If you don't use the LED cabinet light for a long time, it is recommended to charge it once every 3 months to keep the battery active.
- Timely replacement of batteries: If the health of the batteries has significantly declined, you can refer to the product instructions or contact the manufacturer to replace the batteries to ensure that the lights continue to operate efficiently.
